All of the in-field entertainment at Principal Park is controlled within this one room. Pictured here are the controls for manning the intercom system at the ballpark. A microphone is set up for live commentary on the game done by one of the employees of the home team.

The Brains Behind the Ball

Running all of the systems of an entire ballpark takes a lot of processing power. Principal Park has a number of server towers such as the one pictured here in order to handle all of the computing necessary for the automatic ball/strike detector as well as handling the communication between the control room and the people out in the stands.

An Eye From the Sky

The Minor League games get a lot of television coverage, and that coverage comes from the many cameras that are stationed around Principal Park. There are a number of both manually operated cameras as well as static cameras that are always watching the field for the best plays. Cameras are placed all around the field both high up in the stands and also closer to the field.

Score Check

In order to control the scoreboard at Principal Park, they have this device which has all of the buttons necessary for keeping track of everything that could happen during a game. This computer is used by people in the control room to keep the fans up to date with what has happened in the game. It has buttons for showing that a runner is on a base or for showing how many balls have been thrown so far.
