This is a barn, located on Scott Boulevard on the east side of Iowa City, Iowa. It has some art painted on the back side. The city has expanded in this direction during the last 30 years, so while this bar used to be surrounded by farmland it is now located on a walking trail with houses slowly creeping towards it on three sides. “Adding quotes to your captions shows that the photographer is also engaging in some solid reporting,” said SNO Sites education and training specialist Kyle Phillips.

“The Big Lebowski” is a cult film released in 1998 directed by the Coen Brothers. The Coen Brothers grew up in the Minneapolis suburb of St. Louis Park. That suburb displays art pieces throughout the city, and one of them features Jeffrey Lebowski, also known as The Dude, who is the protagonist of that film. “The Dude abides,” is a famous line from the movie.

The Journalism Education Association and National Scholastic Press Association host two conferences each school year at different cities throughout America. Attending these conferences is a great way to learn about many aspects of scholastic journalism, and see the landmarks of the cities where the convention is held.
